A faulty tire pressure sensor can trigger TPMS warnings and prevent accurate tire pressure monitoring. This guide demonstrates how to identify a failed TPMS sensor on a 2022 Volkswagen Viloran, program a new Launch sensor, complete the relearn procedure, and verify the repair using Launch TPMS 5011 V2 tool.
What You’ll Learn
• How to identify the faulty TPMS sensor
• How to program a new Launch TPMS sensor
• How to activate and learn the replacement sensor
• How to perform OBD relearn
• How to confirm a successful repair
Vehicle Information
- Vehicle: Volkswagen Viloran 2022
- Frequency: 433 MHz
- Tool: Launch TPMS 5011 V2 (TPMS 511S V2)
Note: TPMS 5011 V2 and TPMS 511S V2 provide the same functions. TPMS 5011 V2 is the e-commerce version.
Step 1: Enter the Vehicle Menu
Select the following path:
TPMS → Volkswagen → Viloran → 2022/01-2025/12 (433MHz) [30D907251]
Step 2: Locate the Failed Sensor
Select [Active] to activate all four tire pressure sensors.
Three sensors (FR, RR, and RL) respond normally, while the FL sensor does not communicate with the tool. This confirms that the front-left TPMS sensor has failed and needs replacement.
Step 3: Program the New Sensor
Select [Programming] and choose [Auto].
Other programming methods are also available:
• Manual: Enter the original sensor ID manually.
• Copy by OBD: Copy the original sensor ID through OBD.
Wait until programming is completed.
Install the newly programmed Launch TPMS sensor into the FL wheel and inflate the tire to the recommended pressure.
Step 4: Activate and Relearn the Sensor
Use [Active] to activate the new sensor installed at the FL wheel.
Next, select:
[Learning] → [OBD Relearn]
Wait until the tool reports that sensor learning has been completed successfully.
Step 5: Verify the Repair
After a successful relearn procedure, the TPMS warning light should turn off. On many vehicles, tire pressure values will also be displayed normally.
If the warning light remains on or tire pressure values are not displayed, perform a road test:
• Drive at 30 km/h (19 mph) or higher
• Continue driving for approximately 15 minutes
• Confirm that no TPMS warning returns
Once the warning light remains off and no TPMS faults are present, the repair is complete.
