If a stubborn TPMS fault light has illuminated on your 2016 Porsche Macan dashboard, a failed sensor battery or hardware issue is usually the cause. This technical walkthrough provides the exact steps to diagnose, program, and relearn a replacement sensor using Launch Creader TPMS 5011 V2 (same as TPMS 511S V2).
Technical Overview
- Vehicle Platform: 2016 Porsche Macan
- Issue: Instrument cluster displays active TPMS fault warning
- Hardware Used: Launch Creader TPMS 5011 V2 / 511S V2 (433MHz compatible)
Phase 1: Diagnose and Isolate the Dead Sensor
Turn on TPMS 5011 V2 Tool, navigate to [TPMS], and select [PORSCHE].
Select [Macan] and enter the 2016 model year menu choice (e.g., 2013/07-2023/12 (433MHz) [5Q0907275]). (Tip: If sensor activation fails initially, try an alternative menu index for the same year).

Choose [Active] and trigger each sensor.
Diagnostic Result: If the FR, RR, and RL wheels respond normally but the Front Left (FL) wheel shows no data signal, the FL sensor is dead and must be replaced.

Phase 2: Program the Replacement Launch Sensor
Remove the failed factory sensor from the wheel.
Go to the [Learning] screen on the tool to double-check that the printed part number matches the software menu criteria. (Skip this validation if using a different brand aftermarket sensor).

Select [Programming] and click [Auto] to write a brand new sensor ID.
Note: You can also choose [Manual] entry or [Copy by OBD] cloning to mirror the original wheel ID data.

Keep Launch TPMS 5011 V2 held close to the new blank sensor until the data transfer bar reaches 100%.
Phase 3: Hardware Installation & Excitation
Mount the freshly programmed Launch sensor into the FL wheel assembly and inflate the tire to correct OEM factory specifications.

Select [Active] on the scanner interface to trigger the new FL sensor, ensuring it is waking up and broadcasting telemetry data.

Phase 4: Execute OBD Relearn & Driving Calibration
Access the [Learning] tab, click [OBD Relearn], and execute the sequential on-screen steps.

The Porsche Module Sleep Cycle: Lock the vehicle completely and let it rest undisturbed in a deep sleep state for at least 20 minutes.
Turn on the ignition, pull up the tire pressure reset menu on your central infotainment interface (PCM), and trigger the reset sequence.
Take the vehicle on a continuous test drive at speeds exceeding 25 km/h. Once the dashboard reset progress indicator hits 100% and live tire pressure values appear, the fault light will turn off automatically.
