Problem:
An error occurred while attempting to upgrade the firmware for Launch Smartlink C via the Passthru PC method.

Solution:
Uninstall the current software and then perform a fresh installation.
1.Download PC tool for update (update Smartlink C firmware)
Visit https://en.cnlaunch.com/
Select Products tab
e.g. Home-> E-commerce products-> X-431 PAD 7 ELITE
Pull down product information and find Download
Download Smartlink J2534.zip
 
2.Install Launch J2534 PC tool
Finalize the installation by clicking “Finish”.
The desktop icon will confirm that J2534 reprogramming can now begin.
Update VCI Firmware Guide:
Begin by connecting the J2534 Pass-thru device to your PC using a USB cable.
Run Launch SmartLink C J2534 Tool by double-clicking its icon. The main application screen will then open.
To check for updates, tap the “Upgrade” button. The system will now scan for any available newer versions.
If an update is found, the upgrade process to the latest version will begin automatically.

Troubleshooting Note:
Should you encounter any issues, please enable the “Log” switch to the ON position to create a log file for review.
Note that after enabling logs, you will need to restart the diagnostic software.
