How to Detect Launch Sensor Correctly by Launch TPMS 5011 V2?

This guide demonstrates the correct method for detecting a Launch sensor using Launch Creader TPMS 5011 V2.

Sometimes when detecting or programming a TPMS sensor, the tool might fail to read the sensor data. That’s frequently due to incorrect positioning between the tool and the sensor. Follow the correct method below to do it.

Note:

Launch 5011 V2 (black) is the same as 511S V2 (red). The difference is that 5011 V2 is the e-commerce version.

Correct Procedure:

1. Orient the tool horizontally, pointing it directly at the target sensor.

2. Maintain a distance of approximately 10 cm (about 4 inches) between the tool and the sensor.

3. Ensure all other vehicle sensors are at least 100 cm (about 3 feet) away to prevent signal interference.

4. Select the “Detect” function and wait for Launch TPMS 5011 V2 to read the sensor.

Following these steps will typically result in the sensor data being displayed clearly on the screen. The activation and programming of new sensors follow the same positioning principles.

Common mistakes to Avoid:

If detection fails, the issue is often related to Creader TPMS 5011 V2 positioning. Common errors include:

  • Holding the tool at a vertical angle to the sensor.
  • Operating the tool from an excessive distance.

For optimal performance, always ensure the tool is properly aligned with the sensor and at the correct distance.
