How to Activate Commercial Vehicle Privileges for Launch SmartLink HD Truck Module?

When using the LAUNCH X431 SmartLink C 2.0 HD Truck Module for the first time, it may appear the message “This serial number has not activated the commercial vehicle privilege.” This indicates that the SmartLink HD module has not yet been activated and requires activation through an X431 series diagnostic tool. Follow the steps below to complete the process.

 

For example, to activate SmartLink HD using the X431 PAD V:

1. Ensure an active internet connection.
2. Open the X-431 app on the device.
3. Navigate to [User Info] in the app.
4. Locate the [Activate VCI] section.
5. Enter the SmartLink Serial Number and Activation Code (both can be found on the product packaging; see the instructions below the menu bar for reference).
6. Submit the information to activate the module.

Once completed, the commercial vehicle privileges for your Launch X431 SmartLink HD will be activated and ready for use.
