How to register KOS key on a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2022 using Launch X431 PAD V Elite (X431 PAD5 LINK)?
It can be performed with the [Local Diagnose] function and [KOS Key Registration] special function.
Function Description:
This function is used for key registration when all Mitsubishi anti-theft keys are lost or additional keys are matched.
Execution Conditions:
- Connector connected and ignition switch ON
- In N or P gear
- Parking brake applied
- Engine started
Step-by-step registration guide:
Select [Local Diagnose] function on the main menu of X431 PAD V
Select [Mitsubishi]
Confirm the car diagnostic software and click “OK”
Input the VIN for the vehicle, and click “OK” to continue
Note: If you do not know the VIN, click “Cancel” to manually select the path.
Confirm the vehicle info.
Go to [System Topology] page, select [IMMO] and [ENTER]
Select [Special Function], read the notes and click “YES”
Select [KOS Key Registration], and click “YES” to perform this function
Click [Perform] to start the process
Follow the on-screen prompts to operate until the registration is completed.
1.If the vehicle is equipped with a key slot, insert the KOS key into the key slot and press OK.
2.If the vehicle is not equipped with a key slot, when the engine switch indicator lamp flashes after you press OK, move the KOS key to the engine switch.
Note: To add KOS key registration, use the registered KOS key. To apply for a security code, use the KOS key used when applying for the security code.

Completed: “Password Entry” Or “Approval File For Security Code” Is Required For Registration.

5.KOS key registration is completed by Launch X431 PAD V diagnostic scanner.
If you want additional key registration, insert the key into the key slot, and press ok button within 60sec.
