Review 1:
I’m not sure where to start, but the X431 PRO3 V+ Elite is an awesome scan tool for the price.
I really like the build quality.
Starting with the blow molded case in come in to the high quality foam used to protect the scan tool. I’m also a fan of the thick rubber casing used on the tablet which takes away any fear I have of damaging it if it gets dropped. I have tested this scan tool on my truck which is a 2024 GMC canyon with low exceptions of support as I have found in the past with other scan tools they lack which is comes to new model years, but I was very wrong when it comes to the PRO3 V+ Elite. I had no issues when it came to connecting to my truck with lots of options for bi-directional controls and service resets. I’m also a fan of the topography which can help in which diag. I also like the fact that this scan tool comes with a J-Box, especially for the price it is hard to find other scan tools that offer the scan functionality as the PRO3 V+ Elite. One thing that also took me by surprise was the fact that the VCI is in fact a touch screen with options of its own.
The other major benefit I see when purchasing this scan tool is the ability to expand it as launch offers various add-ons such as an oscilloscope, sensor box, TPMS tool, and even ADAS calibration. To get these functions with other brands you will be looking at $4000+ at the minimum. I also like the EV support that this scan tool has to offer, with EV’s becoming a big part of the automotive industry it’s nice to know that this scan tool is somewhat future proofed and I have the ability to purchase additional hardware and software. I also like the fact that launch has added a feedback button so if you notice any issues such as poor translation or errors in guided functions you can report them and have it corrected for all the users. The only thing I wish was included with the scan tool is a screen protector, although this is not that big of an issue as they can be purchased online. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and all my exceptions have been exceeded. I would highly recommend this scan tool to any professional looking to get most value and versatility for your money, but also for the hobbyist looking for a powerful scan tool.
Review 2:
The LAUNCH PRO3 V+ ELITE exceeded my expectations. I used it on my 2014 GM and successfully performed ACC calibration, radar alignment, and ABS programmable module installation without any issues. The topology function is a standout feature — it presents vehicle diagnostics in a clear, visual format that makes locating problems much faster and more efficient. This scanner has saved me a lot of time and helped me increase my earnings.
Review 3:
This X431 PRO3 V+ Elite tool is wonderful it’s fast is user-friendly, all kinds of bi directional controls. You can expand it to immobilizer and cloning, EEPROM functions, also heavy duty line pre-scans easy to send reports a lot of other features and functions. I probably need to touch on coding guided functions you name this tool can do it. Two-year updates and their frequent this tool you can even do remote assistance. This is a solid purchase.
Review 4:
This Launch PRO3 V+ Elite scan tool’s SmartlinkC 2.0 technology offers seamless connectivity. Pairing it with different vehicles is a breeze. The bidirectional functions allow for in – depth interaction with the vehicle’s systems, like actuating components to check for malfunctions. The updated 2025 version has even more enhanced features. It’s reliable, efficient, and truly a top – tier diagnostic tool.
Review 5:
After two months of near daily use, I can say that the x431 has to be one of the better aftermarket scan tool system on sale today. It’s jammed packed with features that both make it easy to work on older vehicles (live data+ recording, bidirectional controls) and is future proof (Software updates and DOiP support) for a long time to come. The hardware is also very promising – it feels like a large robust tablet with a screen that’s both sharp and responsive. It has a very discreet power button placement and cover flaps on the USB ports for style and protection.
As with many high end scanners like this one, software support comes at a cost after the initial 2 or so years – in addition to that, Launch offers several compatible accessories from Bluetooth battery testing clamps to a dedicated oscilloscope expanding your X431’s functionality. While all of these are useful, they come at a cost sometimes comparable to stand alone solutions. Launch includes the scanner, the VCI SmartlinkC 2.0 and several connection/ charging accessories in the case.
The VCI SmartlinkC 2.0 is very impressive. It is built just as tough as the scanner with a strong case and rubber soft cornet paddings. The OBD2 cord is fairly long – can be replaced if needed without having to replace the VCI. It supports several protocols that ensure compatibility with several makes and models of recent years. While wireless it uses BT to communicate. Although some WIFI connection is supported (remote diagnosis) I have not set that up as I mainly use a USB connection (included) to support diagnosis via DoIP. I mainly use this on late model Land Rovers so DoIP support is essential to keeping this scanner relevant for years to come.
The software on this scan tool can be familiar if you’ve used similar scanners or launch products. It’s not bad software at all and it’s layer on Android 10. Based on my use so far is pulls codes from and covers practically every system (Powertrain, Chassis, HVAC etc) and supports OEM level functions and test plans. Lastly, the topology screen is accurate and interactive. It helps a lot more than I thought it would.
