Customer problem:
I was using the LAUNCH X431 PRO3 V+ Elite with SmartLink C V2.0 but was unable to connect to the VCI SmartLink. When attempting to connect, the following error message appeared:
🚨 “Function inactive or expired.”
I have followed the setup instructions but still encountered the issue.
Solution:
This issue occurs because the customer has mistakenly accessed the Super Remote function.
✔️ If you do NOT need the Super Remote function:
- Disconnect the VCI from the network.
- Go directly to Local Diagnose mode.
✔️ If you DO need the Super Remote function:
- Purchase the Launch Remote Diagnosis Annual Activation Card first.
- Then, follow the activation steps outlined in the article below.
