How to use Launch X431 PAD V Elite to perform idle air quantity learning on a Nissan car?
Here take NISSAN ALTIMA L34 2024 as an example to show the detailed operation guide.
Function Description:
This function allows the ECM to learn the position of the IACV-ACC to maintain the engine idle speed. Be sure to execute this mode after replacing the IACV-ACC valve, throttle body, ECM, or when the idle speed or ignition timing is out of the specified range. For details, refer to the service manual.
Execution Conditions:
Before performing this function, confirm that all the following conditions are met. Even for a moment, if any of the conditions are not met, the adjustment process will not be completed.
- Engine speed: >0 and <1200 rpm
- Engine coolant temperature: 70–100 degrees Celsius (158–194 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Vehicle speed: Stopped
- Battery voltage: Greater than 12V (at idle)
- Neutral/Parking gear: On
- Electrical load switches: Off (A/C, headlights, rear window defogger)
For vehicles equipped with daytime running lights, set the light switch to gear 1, with only the small lights on
- Cooling fan motor: Not running
- Steering wheel: Center position (straight ahead position)
Menu path:
Select [Local Diagnose] on the main menu of X431 PAD V
Select NISSAN-> Manually Select-> North America-> American Samoa-> ALTIMA sedan> L34> 2024- to enter the full vehicle systems
Click [Smart Detection] to scan the full vehicle systems
Choose [System List] and then choose [Engine Control Module (ECM)]
Choose [WORK SUPPORT] and [Idle Air Quantity Learning]
Confirm the prompt information and click OK to enter the next step
Click [Start] to learn
The matching precautions are displayed. Choose [Conditions Met] to display the data before learning.
The idle air quantity learning status value is displayed as “Completed” and the learning is completed.
